Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)

The Planning Portal Website has a reasonably concise explanation of the community infrastructure levy.
This is a newish planning charge, introduced by the Planning Act 2008. It came into force on 6 April 2010 through the Community Infrastructure Levy Regulations 2010. Development may be liable for a charge under the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), if your local planning authority has chosen to set a charge in its area.
After April 2014 the Community Infrastructure Levy will replace planning obligations as a mechanism for pooling contributions, although Section 106 obligations will continue to be available to
address site specific issues that cannot be dealt with through planning conditions.
You can access the Planning Portal Website here.

Have been unable to find if CDC have a CIL charging schedule specifically for the CIL. (Oxford City do – in case you want to see what one looks like.)
